Research has for long sustained the foundations of democratic practices. This is possible because of its potential to cultivate intellectual and ethical judgments, allowing educational inquiry full comprehension on issues that are of utmost importance to the needs of a society, as well as equipping societies with the tools to determine the best course of action in line with their specific needs.

LDCFL research interests are geared towards the promotion of national and international policy discussions on citizenship and development, civic responsibility, programmatic politics, credible and sustained leadership and building bridges from knowledge to Power as it relates to Nigeria and its place in the community of nations. Our aim is to serve as a forum for Nigeria- responsive research, communication and exchange of ideas. Our research aims seek to put the most important needs of Nigerian development at the center of national and international discussions, and to champion best practices that will help Nigeria to meet those needs.

Our approach towards research and the dissemination of its findings feeds on liberal education. We undertake research needed for global policy making on African developmental needs as well as provide a platform for discussing research findings on global best practices. We turn on research spotlight on findings that are most innovative, and foster acts of education that are most effective for vital goal achievement. This approach is aimed at activating Nigerian-civic oriented discussions on global development and launching initiatives that takes the condition of the Nigerian democratic needs at heart. We rely on the diversity of Nigeria regional identities to enhance discussions on democratic vitality and expand the kind of civic education that has proved sustainable to the most advanced democracies in the world.

We at LDFCL acknowledge that Nigeria is blessed with a good percentage of the worlds educated. Through our platform, we aim to create a platform through which these blessings can be affiliated with the societal needs of the Nigerian society.
